ラテン語で table を意味する mensa が基になっています。

この語の大元は、hut を意味する後期ラテン語の capanna 。

この語の大元は、branch を意味するラテン語の ramus 。
また、艦隊を意味する armada はこの語のアナグラムですが、
実はこれもスペイン語から来た語だということです。

さて、今日の単語は peccadillo 。
小さな罪、という意味だそうです。

これは to sin を意味するラテン語の peccare からきた単語のようで、
foot を意味するインド-ヨーロッパ語族の ped- が基になっているとのこと。
